In addition to being
a classically trained singer, Lucy is also a professional actress. She
completed a 12-month course last year, gaining a Diploma in
Professional Acting at Drama Studio London. She has since performed in
a variety of roles ranging from pantomime to Shakespeare.
She has a BA Honours Joint Degree in Music & Drama and a Diploma in Professional Acting. She
also passed the Associated Board Grade 8 Singing classification with
Distinction.
Lucy learnt to sing
in a choral environment in her local Church choir and also as a member
of her school and University choirs. During her school years she was
entered into the long-established Tunbridge Wells Competitive Arts
Festival, where she was placed 1st eight times in the nine years she competed in it.
She studied Classical Music for many years under Dorothy Bridger and
subsequently under Colette Harbroom. She has also been very fortunate
to have had lessons with operatic soprano, Rachel Nicholls.
While at Sixth Form
College she was very lucky to be taught music by John Langridge, who
had previously been Musical Director at the Guildford School of Music
and Drama. He has also worked as a live music producer for BBC Radio. He encouraged
her to pursue her musical ambitions and has continued to support her
in the development of her professional career.
Lucy has performed in
public as a solo soprano and in duets since the age of ten. She has
sung in front of audiences ranging from single figures up to the high
hundreds. The functions at which she has sung include weddings (both
religious and civil ceremonies), birthday celebrations, concerts,
plays, musicals and charity events.
Lucy feels very lucky
to be performing and enjoying the career she has always wanted to
follow. She has a repertoire of classical and folk songs that will
suit nearly every occasion and she would be delighted to hear from you
and to have the opportunity to provide the music for your own special
occasion.
